Viva La Fiesta: A South American Themed Party

Our client came to us with a request to host a fabulous Fiesta themed party at their private home in Suffolk. They wanted an event to reflect their love of Mexico and South America, having travelled extensively, so we set to work creating a party that encompassed the flavours, smells, textures and colours of both. The result was a magical multicoloured wonderland that transported guests from the tranquillity of the English countryside to an electrifying carnivale setting.

Guests entered into a secret garden adorned with festoon lights, bejewelled lanterns and a rustic bar finished with a magnificent cactus centrepiece. Flamenco guitarists set the scene with a beautiful live set as cocktails and canapés were served.

Acres of beautiful gardens provided the perfect backdrop, so we erected stretch tents to allow the greenery to spill in to the dining space. With a colourful palette at its heart, the design drew upon Mexican and South American textiles and designs, carnival lighting and décor. Peruvian table runners, hundreds of baby cacti and a jewel coloured ribbon ceiling adorned the tent as guests enjoyed a family style feast followed by an amazing set by the Funk Soul Lovers. A DJ played late into the night with many of the younger guests still dancing by the time the barbecues were fired up again to serve a well-deserved breakfast of warm bacon rolls and jugs of Bloody Mary.

The Menu

Guests enjoyed a canapé menu including grilled plantain and sweet potato tacos and braised beef with chimichurri baby soft corn tortillas, grilled chicken skewers with cumin peppers, grilled tiger prawn skewers with chilli and mango and salted char-grilled pardon peppers. Fresh mojitos, Spanish gin and tonics and ruby red pomegranate coolers were amongst the delicious cocktails on offer.


Guest enjoyed a Brazilian barbecue of flame grilled skewers including beef steak marinated in a rich chimichurri sauce, spicy malagueta chicken in a sticky chilli sauce and chimichurri tenderloin pork. Sharing bowls of chunky avocado salad, grilled potatoes in a mole sauce and chimichurri chargrilled broccoli were passed amongst guests.

A dessert station laden with salted caramel brownies, Pastel De Nata and an abundance of exotic fruits was the perfect sweet end to the menu.
