Brockman’s Gin asked us to create the ultimate gin inspired menu for their three nights of events. Held in our favourite venue the Steelyard in central London, the industrial exposed brick of the underground arches was the perfect backdrop for their event.
On arrival guests where given a Brockmans perfect serve cocktail with fever tree tonic topped with blueberry’s and grapefruit peel served long in a cut glass highball. Three alternative Brockmans gin alternative cocktails where then served throughout the night to compliment the food. There was also a button at each table with press for gin, whereupon gin cocktails would be delivered to your table once the button was pressed.
1st course: Pork and shrimp dim sum, steamed over gin, dipping sauce in banana leaf served in small black bowls in the sauce.
2nd course: Orange and lemon zest marinated wild bream ceviche taco, coriander cress served in a glossy black shallow coaster
3rd course: Daube of venison, gin-pickled meat radish served in a black oska bowl
4th course: Game, chestnut, juniper and bacon tart, blackberry jelly which was served in a black bento box lined red glassen paper. The guests had to open the box to find two succulent mouthfuls inside.
1st course: Delica pumpkin and miso dim sum, black sesame and sweet vinegar served in small black bowls in the sauce
2nd course: Corn taco, guacamole and chimichurri served in a glossy black shallow coaster
3rd course: Smoked tofu burger, roast tomato ketchup served on a mini glass cake stand
4th course: Sweetcorn fritter, avocado chipotle salsa, popcorn shoot was served in a black bento box lined red glassene paper. The guests had to open the box to find two succulent mouthfuls inside.
Dessert was a Lemon granita with a pipette of gin and was served in a mini Lucca Coupe. For added drama and effect, dry ice was used when serving the dessert so that the coupes looked like they were floating through smoke
