Lettice were called upon by a private client to throw a festival themed bash in their countryside home to celebrate a milestone birthday. We channelled boutique festivals Wilderness and House Festival to bring a unique mix of hidden snugs and soft furnished seating areas with decadent Raj marquees and long table banqueting. Dinner was cooked in the open air on BBQ pits and served with street food inspired middle eastern salad. The festival vibes were carried through into the night on the chequered dance floor, where guests danced underneath 20 spinning disco balls.
Venue: Private countryside home in Suffolk
Number of guests: 180
The guests were greeted with a canapé and cocktail reception under the beautiful Raj tents. Inspired by Greek and Turkish mezze, grissini, baked pitta chips with a selection of homemade dips including hummus and taramasalata were served.
At 8pm the guests moved down to the larger marquees to take their seats at the long banqueting tables. Open pit BBQ’s were fired up to create a Summer festival inspired feast including barbequed poussin, quail, sirloin steak and grilled haloumi. This was served alongside large platters of tabbouleh and fattoush, rainbow cabbage salads, grilled flat breads and an assortment of garlic, mint, yoghurt and chilli sauces.
At 2am after an evening of dancing and merriment, we served an early breakfast of local reared bacon and sausages, toasted baps and homemade ketchup.
Elderflower Vodka & Soda Water and Mint
We installed luminous lighting throughout the grounds to recreate the electric atmosphere of a festival at night. Guests spent the evening spotting themselves projected on the client’s home, and when the dancing was over they enjoyed bacon and sausage baps whilst huddled around the blazing fire pits wrapped in blankets.
