It’s that time of year again! We were incredibly excited to once again pull out all the stops for the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction.
The Prize was set up in 1996 to celebrate excellence, originality and accessibility in writing by women throughout the world. This year, British author Naomi Alderman took the prize for her novel The Power.
The venue: The Clore Ballroom, South Bank Centre
Guest number: 600
Who was there: Notable guests included: TV presenter Susanna Reid; Martha Lane Fox CBE; journalist Rachel Johnson; singer-songwriter Tracey Thorn; actor and comedian Stephen Mangan and Baileys Prize judge Katie Derham.
Guests were greeted with trays of frothy Baileys Flat White Martinis, sparkling Prosecco and smooth Sancerre. Later in the evening, Baileys Chocolat Luxe went down a treat alongside the dessert canapés.
For those not so alcohol inclined, we served a refreshing Rosewater and Lemon Spritz with a mint sprig garnish, and a fruity Sparkling Pomegranate and Elderflower.
The evening started with an array of cold canapés and, once the winner had been announced, a selection of cold cylinders circulated the room. Shortly before the end of the event, dessert canapés were circulated on trays, including our spectacular Baby Baileys Hard Shakes…

We tied in our service equipment with the event colour palette, using vintage-effect bronze mirror trays for the canapés and gold trays for the cylinders.
Our lovely waiters were dressed in champagne-colour ties and beige braces, and our super smart barmen wore beige blazers.
