A Pitcuresque 50th Birthday Party

This June we were set with the task of creating a memorable 50th birthday party that looked  luxury but natural in a private residence for over 200 guests

To complement the lush surroundings, our bar was made from woven wood with a live plant panel made from herbs and foliage from the garden such as rosemary and thyme, with lavender and Gypsophila sprinkled throughout. We topped the bar with boxes of fresh strawberries and vibrant pomegranates.

Fairy lights twinkled from the hedgerow, and lantern lit paths led you to different corners of the garden. The tables had ivy threaded through them and delicate vases and jars were filled with fresh  flowers.

The Food:

To start the evening our smiling staff circulated the garden with our canapé trays filled with fresh flowers, topped with chargrilled courgette ribbons with goat’s cheese, rocket and lemon. Carpaccio of beef with rocket, truffle oil and parmesan shavings served on a crostini were also on the menu, along with cured salmon & beetroot potato cakes with horseradish crème fraiche. Bright pink shoot bundles were also served on eye catching gold trays with chilli dipping sauce.

A little later we served our signature cylinders with four options there was something for everyone, pink roast beef slivers with sweet roasted onions served with minted Jersey royals, blackened salmon with a broad bean and chervil salad and tikka chicken with cumin dressing and a cool yoghurt served with toasted almonds. For the vegetarians there was a delicious slow roasted squash with pecorino shavings and rocket.

The Drinks:

With two fully stocked bars to choose from guests were spoilt for choice, the speciality drink of the evening was chosen by the client herself, a fun and vibrant Pomegranate Martini. We also had three different Gin and Tonic infusions available with strawberry and thyme proving very popular. And of course no summer party is complete without copious amounts of Rosé.

As the sun set most guests made their way to the dance floor where they were greeted with headphones for the silent disco. Silent discos are the perfect way to ensure guests can continue to party into the early hours without upsetting the neighbours. Others chose to make their way to the cosy candle lit seating areas dotted around the garden.

No birthday party is complete without cake so to end the night we served luxury chocolate brownies topped with sprinkles of sugar and edible flowers.
