Lettice How To: Prosecco Margarita

The first of two bank holiday weekends are coming up and we’re getting ready for plenty of cocktail parties and fizz!

With that in mind, we thought we’d share with you our recipe for the perfect Prosecco Margarita, as demonstrated by our lovely bar staff at a recent birthday cocktail party.

You will need (recipe for one cocktail):

  • 1x cocktail shaker
  • 1x cocktail strainer
  • Ice
  • We like to serve in champagne saucers!

The ingredients:

  • 25ml Blanco Tequila
  • 30ml Triple Sec
  • 30ml Simple Syrup
  • 60ml Fresh Lime Juice
  • Prosecco for topping up – we love Solpiantez Spumante Brut Millesimato
  • Rock Salt or Sea Salt
  • Mint Leaves

The master plan:

Run the cut edge of a lime wedge around the rim of each glass and then dip the rim into a plate of coarse rock or sea salt.

Place the tequila, Triple Sec, simple syrup and lime juice in the shaker and top up with ice. Give it a good shake and then pour through the strainer, dividing equally between the glasses.

Top up with prosecco and add a mint leaf to garnish. Top tip: Place the mint leaf in the palm of your hand and clap your hands together once – this brings out the scent of the mint.

Enjoy!
